Launch a Virtual PoP in Asia—no hardware to ship, no rack to lease

A Virtual PoP gives you your own presence in Hong Kong or Singapore on rented infrastructure. Start with a single server and one port, run your own ASN and routing policy, and reach our Asia and China carrier mix and local IX peering over a single cross-connect. No freight, no full-rack commitment, and 95th percentile billing on bandwidth. When traffic grows, add your own hardware and turn it into a physical PoP.

VIRTUAL POP

The challenges of entering a new market

YOUR NEW POP

High upfront cost

Most facilities lease by the half or full rack on long-term contracts, and routers and switches still have to be bought, shipped, and installed—all before the PoP carries any traffic.

With Virtual PoP: Space from 1U, and physical or virtual routers and switches rented by the month.

An unfamiliar market

Facilities, carriers, and network quality differ in every region. Comparing options remotely takes time, and it is hard to tell whether a design or a quote is reasonable.

With Virtual PoP: We operate our own network locally and know the facilities and carriers first-hand, so we can advise on site selection and network design.

Multiple connectivity needs

A single PoP often needs cloud on-ramps, IX peering, and local carrier circuits at the same time. Finding, negotiating, and connecting each one separately is slow and expensive.

With Virtual PoP: One cross-connect delivers cloud, IX, and multi-carrier connectivity, with 95th percentile billing.

No local operations team

Shipping hardware across borders means customs and long lead times. Racking, cabling, part swaps, and troubleshooting all need someone on site, and stationing an engineer at one new PoP rarely makes sense.

With Virtual PoP: Hardware is rented on site, so nothing ships. Our 24/7 remote hands handle racking, part swaps, and troubleshooting.

How it works

Start on rented infrastructure. Bring your own hardware when traffic justifies it.

A Virtual PoP is a network presence built on rented resources: servers, network hardware, and interconnection ports inside CloudDDoS's carrier-neutral facilities in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Los Angeles. We look after the hardware and the on-site work; the ASN, the address space, and the routing policy stay yours. To your customers, it is no different from a PoP you built yourself. When traffic justifies owning hardware, colocate it by the U in the same facility and move to a physical PoP without relocating.

  • BGP sessions with your own ASN and prefixes, even if you only rent a server and a port
  • Start with one server and one port—nothing to buy or ship
  • Hardware faults and on-site work handled 24/7
  • Upgrade to per-U colocation in the same facility, with no migration

What's included

Everything a PoP needs, available on demand

Per server

Dedicated servers

Rent dedicated servers to run your own virtualization platform, cloud products, or virtual network functions. We replace failed hardware.

IX · Cloud · Carriers

Interconnection ports

Order ports to HKIX, Equinix IX, and other exchanges, cloud on-ramps to AWS and Alibaba Cloud, or cross-connects to other carriers in the facility.

Routers · Switches

Network hardware rental

Rent physical or virtual routers and switches by the month. We rack and cable the hardware; you take over configuration and management remotely.

Next step · From 1U

Per-U colocation

When you are ready to deploy your own hardware, colocate it by the U in the same facility, with power and network handoff included and direct connectivity to your existing Virtual PoP resources.

Network

One cross-connect to our entire network

A PoP still needs bandwidth and routes. CloudDDoS operates its own network across Asia. Connect your Virtual PoP to us over one port and one cross-connect, and a single BGP session gives you all of the following—without carrier-by-carrier contracts and circuits.

China

Premium China routes

Direct connections to China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile for more stable paths in and out of mainland China.

Asia · Global

International and regional carriers

NTT, Telia, Singtel, Hurricane Electric, and more, covering Asia and major global destinations.

Peering

Local IX and ISP peering

Reach peering routes from local exchanges and major ISPs through our network. If you want to join an exchange under your own ASN, rent a dedicated IX port.

Burstable

95th percentile billing

Start with a small commit and burst when traffic peaks. It keeps early costs low and leaves room to grow.

Deployment

From first call to live PoP

  1. Scope

Tell us your target market, device count, power draw, bandwidth, and interconnection requirements.

  2. Proposal

We check facility and port availability, then send a location recommendation, resource list, and quote.

  3. Build

We prepare your rented servers and network hardware, then rack, cable, and power them on. Shipping your own hardware? We install it at the same time.

  4. Turn-up

We provision cross-connects, IX ports, cloud connections, or transit, then work with your team on BGP turn-up and testing.

Why CloudDDoS

We run a network too

Your network, your routing

Even with a single rented server and one port, you get BGP sessions and announce your own ASN and prefixes. The PoP shows up on the internet as your network, not ours.

Low entry cost

Pay by the server, by the port, and by the U, with bandwidth billed at the 95th percentile—not for capacity you don't use yet.

One partner, one network

Space, hardware, interconnection, and bandwidth from one team. A single cross-connect reaches multiple carriers and IX peering: one contract, one support channel.

Local knowledge, engineer to engineer

We operate our own network in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Los Angeles, and we know the local facilities, carriers, and exchanges. Our NOC is staffed 24/7, so you talk BGP, routing, and faults directly with the engineers who run the network.

FAQ

Questions to settle before you deploy

What is a Virtual PoP, and how is it different from building my own?

A Virtual PoP is a network presence built on rented resources. We provide the servers, network hardware, and interconnection ports and handle the on-site work; you keep control of the ASN, address space, and routing policy. Compared with building your own PoP, there is no hardware to buy or ship and no full-rack commitment, and the services you deliver are the same.

How is this different from just renting a server?

A standard dedicated server runs on the provider's IP space and routing. A Virtual PoP connects over BGP with your own ASN and prefixes and can reach exchanges and clouds, so it appears on the internet as your network.

What is the smallest setup I can start with?

One server or one interconnection port, with no rack space required. When you want to deploy your own hardware, colocation starts at 1U and scales to a quarter, half, or full rack.

Can I use my own ASN and IP space if I only rent servers and ports?

Yes. You don't need to colocate your own hardware. Customers who only rent servers and ports get BGP sessions with us and announce their own ASN and prefixes. If you don't have address space yet, IPv4 leasing is available.

How is bandwidth billed?

We support 95th percentile billing. You choose a commit and traffic bursts above it when needed. Start with a small commit and adjust it as you grow; port size and commit are confirmed in your proposal.

We have no engineers in the region. Who handles day-to-day operations?

Our 24/7 remote hands cover reboots, cable changes, hardware swaps, and on-site troubleshooting. Your team manages the equipment remotely.

Which exchanges and clouds can I connect to?

In Hong Kong, for example, you can reach HKIX and Equinix IX, as well as cloud platforms such as AWS and Alibaba Cloud. Availability varies by facility, and we confirm each connection in your proposal.

How long does deployment take?

It depends on the resources involved. Existing space and in-stock hardware are delivered quickly; cross-connects, IX ports, and cloud connections depend on the other party. Your quote will include a delivery date.
